Castelli Gabba Windstopper Rain Jersey: A fully protective wind and waterproof jersey built from the latest innovation in fabric technology; Windstopper X-Lite Plus. Tested and developed by the Cervelo Test Team, the Gabba jersey is a breakthrough in comfort and wet weather protection. The Gabba Windstopper rain jersey is a textbook Castelli product innovation. It started with a focus group of Cervelo Test Team riders in August 2009 tasked with improving clothing for cold and wet conditions. Gabriel Rasch had the idea of a stretch short sleeve rain jersey to be worn with Castelli Nanoflex arm warmers; a great idea but existing fabrics were either not stretchy enough or not breathable enough. Consequently Castelli worked with Gore to develop the 4-way stretch Windstopper X-Lite Plus waterproof fabric. Jerseys were made for the Cervelo Test team in march 2010 while Gore prepared for commercial production. Castelli continued to refine the design with Cervelo Test Team input to produce the Gabba Windstopper Rain Jersey, now available for your next cold and wet race. Windstopper X-Lite Plus A new fabric for Autumn/Winter 2011, this 4-way stretch windstopper fabric is extremely light weight and offers a stretchy, breathable outer shell that prevents wind penetration. Furthermore, the fabric is waterproof, making it the perfect protection for intense aerobic activities in wet and cold weather. Nano Flex Exclusively engineered by Castelli, thermal fleecy stretch Thermoflex fabric is coated with millions of tiny silicone nanofilaments to create the most water-repellent fabric finish ever. Drops of water stay as spherical balls on top of the fabric or bounce off the fabric without leaving a trace. The silicone nanofilaments also trap a layer of air between them for excellent insulation and prevents water droplets from soaking through the coating to the fabric underneath.
