Continental Grand Prix 4000 Road Tyre (2) and Tube Set: New highly awaited top of the line road tyre from Continental. 2 tyres and inner tubes at an outstanding price. The successor to the highly popular Grand Prix 3000 it now has 20% less rolling resistance and a lighter weight. Continental are the first company to implement Vectran technology into bicycle tyres. This multibred thermoplastic yarn is made from melted Vectran and is the only liquid crystal polymer fibre in the world made from a spinning process. Advantages over armid and nylon puncture protection systems include near zero moisture absorption, excellent fatigue performance, improved dimensional stability and better resistance to flex/fold/buckling, essential for reliability in low tension flexing or induced twisting in fabric, rope, or cable applications. Vectran Breaker: The innovation in puncture protection. Made from melted Vectra Liquid Crystal Polymer, Vectran is the only LCP fibre in the world, made using a spinning process Vectran is lightweight, extremely durable, resistant to water is five times stronger than steel. Conti tyres which include one or sometimes two layers of Vectran under the tread are some of the toughest and lightweight bicycle tyres available. Vectran is used in extreme sports applications such as sailcloth for offshore competition yachts.
