e.thirteen XCX-ST Chain Retention XC Guide: The brainchild of World Cup mechanic and now Hive Brand OE & International Sales Ninja Jonas Mikolayunas, the XCX Chain Retention System has literally been years in the making. The XCX ST is a seat tube mounted version of the currently successful ethirteen XCX.BB 1x9/1x10 cross country race guide. It is designed to be mounted to any frame that is capable of using a standard front derailleur mount. The high-mount may be more popular since high-clamp front derailleur mounting is more popular, but the low-mount version has its place and may be more suitable in cases where water bottle cage mounting bolts may potentially interfere with the high-mount XCX design. The chain-line is adjusted via a plastic eccentric seat tube shim. There are three shims included with each retail packaged XCX ST guide kit - for adapting to a 28.6mm, 31.8mm or 34.9mm seat tube diameter. These guide kits are retail packaged in rectangular boxes and of course include installation instructions. The XCX, has been used by friends and employees of ethirteen since 2004 and now has been proven at the highest levels of competition right out of the gate. Having won the Men's Elite Silver medal in the 2009 UCI World Championship Cross Country race the XCX is the first chain retention system in the world to podium at a international World Cup XC event.
